Breezy Days

A song about lighter moments, ordinary freedom, and discovering that joy is part of growing up too.

Breezy Days is about the softer side of my Chicago life.

A lot of my songs come from intense feelings - leaving, longing, frustration, heartbreak, identity, restlessness. But not everything about growing up was dramatic. Some of the most important moments were the ordinary ones that didn’t seem important until later.

Walking around with nowhere urgent to be. Laughing with Mila in the apartment. Getting coffee I probably shouldn’t have spent money on. Hearing music from somebody’s open window. Feeling the city warm up after winter. Having a day that belonged to me.

Those moments mattered because they taught me that freedom didn’t always have to look like escape. Sometimes freedom was just being able to choose your own afternoon.

Breezy Days is about that lighter feeling. The little pockets of happiness that appear when you’re not trying so hard to prove something. I wanted the song to carry the warmth of being young in a city and realising, even briefly, that you’re okay.

Not fixed. Not finished. Just okay, and maybe even happy.
