Give Me Time
A song about needing patience while you heal, grow, and become ready for the life waiting for you.
Give Me Time is one of the emotional moments on the album.
It comes from that place where you know you’re changing, but you can’t prove it yet. You’re not the person you used to be, but you’re not fully the person you’re becoming either. That in-between stage can be hard for other people to understand, especially when they want answers from you.
I’ve felt that in relationships, friendships, family, music, everything. People want to know where you stand, what you want, what you’re doing next, whether you’re okay, whether you’ve figured yourself out. Sometimes the honest answer is: not yet, but I’m trying.
That’s what this song is about.
It isn’t about making excuses or asking everyone to wait forever. It’s about asking not to be rushed while you’re still becoming. Sometimes growth is slow and private. Sometimes you’re doing the work, but from the outside it just looks like uncertainty.
Give Me Time is a song with a spine. It says: I know I’m not finished. Please don’t mistake that for not caring.
